STAT: Introduction

STAT (Spatial Test Automation Tool) is used to log spatial measurement data (throughput, RSSI, SNR, RTT) in an automated manner.

STAT runs on a laptop connected to the STA (station) over an Ethernet cable.

Using STAT requires the following items:

  • a laptop

  • a USB-Ethernet adapter and a LAN cable

  • an AP (access point)

  • a STA (station)

  • portable batteries

  • a USB-GPS device

    • Required for GPS-assisted outdoor testing.

    • Not needed for indoor testing.

It may be convenient to set up a pole-mounted backpack to carry the STA:

Also, the AP and the STA should be set up to auto-start on reboot.
